Intensity & Activity

This class focuses on the mechanics of key punches, defensive skills, technique, how to catch and slip punches, working on both attacking and defensive drills, tactics and rhythm – encompassing all the key elements of boxing in a controlled and safe environment. Our expert boxing coaches will assist you in shadow-boxing, footwork, partner drills, hand pad and bag work combinations, as well as provide the option to take part in sparring sessions.

You can still expect a good workout in theses sessions however they are predominantly focused on technique and for perfecting your boxing skills.

Level & Experience

The Intermediate Boxing (Previusly know as Novice Boxing) sessions are open to anyone 12 years and older and caters to those with solid foundations in boxing skills. Not recommended to attend unless you have previous boxing experience – Please speak to reception for further information.

Sparring – Sparring sessions can be organised during or outside of the Novice Training sessions – Please speak to your coach. We recommend that you have an intermediate fitness level and some boxing skills/experience before participating in sparring.

*Mouthguards and headgear must be worn for all sparring sessions. 12 -17 year olds MUST have parental/Guardian consent to participate in light sparring.

Competitive Fighters: If you are looking to work towards a corporate or amateur/professional boxing match – please talk to Head Coach Chris to discuss what it entails.

When & How

Novice Boxing Training: is currently being run on Tuesdays and Thursdays 7-8pm. And on a Wednesday morning from 6-7am.

One-on-one, private or small group personal sessions also available, please contact Beat Boxing for further details.

What do I need to bring?

HAND WRAPS Minimum requirements are your own HAND WRAPS. Hand wraps can be purchased from Beat Boxing from $10-$15.

BOXING GLOVES We recommend that you purchase your own gloves.  We have an extensive range that are available for purchase at Beat Boxing. However, while you are  in your first week trial, you are welcome to borrow our club gloves.

TOWEL We ask that you also bring along your own sweat towel to use while training & WATER BOTTLE
